Donald Strum, IDSA, Principal of Product Design at Michael Graves Architecture & Design (MGA&D) will be speaking at Design Connections’ Healthcare conference February 15th. The three-day event, sponsored by interiors+sources and nGage Events will be held in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and features the latest in healthcare trends, products and services. Donald’s talk, entitled Designing with Purpose, Personality and Then Some will illustrate how MGA&D uses design as a tool to create positive change in the world.
MGA&D has established a design philosophy that applies to all scales, across diverse industries and cultures. Donald will talk about MGA&D’s Four Pillar Philosophy while reflecting on Michael Graves’ personal health crisis that contributed to the firm’s ethnographic approach to design. The result – a global design practice becoming a multidisciplinary expert in healthcare and wellness design.
The session will share how MGA&D applies its design philosophy to its product design and architecture projects. Most importantly, Donald will teach other design practitioners how to transform a practice from a project-based transactional model to a strategy-driven design firm.

About Design Connections + Healthcare Event
The goal of this event is to provide an intelligent option for education designers to meet with suppliers and exchange new and relevant information as well as share the latest in new products for the marketplace. Suppliers connect with decision makers for their products. Both suppliers and designers are provided relevant content for the education design industry.
This is not a trade show event…it is designed for professionals on both the supplier and design sides to connect in an intimate setting and exchange significant information that will impact the way the education design industry grows.
