Enable Michael Graves Awards

Michael Graves Architecture & Design is proud to be a part of the New Jersey-based Enable group and their mission to provide services, resources, and support for adults and children with disabilities and seniors throughout New Jersey.

The Enable NJ awards are focused on those with disabilities and focuses on community inclusion and enhancing the lives of those with special needs. The Enable group now honors individuals with a special Michael Graves award. The Enable Michael Graves Awards were established in honor of Michael Graves who was Co-Chair of the Enable 25th Anniversary Gala before his death in March 2015.

This year’s recipients include Mindy Scheier, Special Olympics New Jersey, and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc.. Each recipient was awarded a 30th Anniversary Alessi Tea Rex tea kettle donated and designed by Michael Graves Architecture and Design.

This year’s recipients include Mindy Scheier, Runway of Dreams founder; Special Olympics New Jersey (represented by Heather Bell Andersen, President and CEO); and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (represented by Peg Forrestel, Director of Contributions and Community Affairs). The first Enable Michael Graves Awards were presented at the Awards Celebration on September 29, 2016 and each recipient was awarded a 30th Anniversary Alessi Tea Rex tea kettle donated and designed by Michael Graves Architecture and design.

“These individuals and organizations have actively championed the rights of individuals with disabilities,” Sharon Copeland, Chief Executive Officer of Enable, stated. “We are extremely proud of their dedication and efforts to develop understanding and respect among all people. Each award recipient has shown tremendous leadership in our community and has worked tirelessly to help promote an inclusive society for all.”
