
Yale-New Haven Hospital offers one of the oldest and most comprehensive geriatric assessment programs in the United States and the hospital’s geriatric services is ranked #18 in US News and World Report’s 2014 Best Hospital rankings. Previously housed on an older med/surg patient floor, Yale-New Haven Hospital’s new Center for Restorative Care unit now resides on a newly renovated patient floor that incorporates architectural elements and signage specifically designed to support the care of patients 65 and older.
James Wisniewski, along with Lisa Walke, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics) and Associate Chief for Clinical Affairs (Geriatrics), Yale School of Medicine will detail the evidence-based research that contributed to design decisions resulting in a project that supports both patients and staff at the Environments for Aging Annual Meeting April 9-12, 2015 in Baltimore, MD. Strategies for translating research into an actionable way finding program will also be presented as well as tips for maximizing your renovation capital dollar.
