‘Rehabbing Rehabilitation’ with the new Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital

Michael Graves Architecture & Design is excited to announce that Patrick Burke, AIA, will be speaking at the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM. Patrick will be co-presenting with Paul Dongilli, Jr. Ph.D., FACHE, President, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital and Thomas Penney, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Principal at DLR Group.

The conference session is focused on improving both the patient and family experience, entitled “Rehabbing Rehabilitation: Better Design Through Empathy and Innovation.” At the conference, Patrick, Paul and Thomas will offer exclusive insights on how the Madonna Hospital (slated to open this October) is a case study in design empathy.

Patrick will illustrate how the facility, located in Omaha, Nebraska, reinvented the patient experience in a new benchmark facility for rehabilitation hospitals. Patrick will also discuss how the design team focused on empathy and innovation to inform design decisions that seek to improve outcomes for clinicians, patients and their families.
