Named for the first black chief federal judge in the United States, the William B. Bryant Annex to the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse is a 351,000 square foot office and courthouse located on a prominent site in Federal Washington, across from the East Wing of the National Gallery and within view of the Capitol.

The new linear structure extends the circulation and symmetrical organization of the older building unifies circulation within the courthouse complex.Identity
The architectural character of the building features barrel-vaulted bays on the side facades to indicate the location of the court sets located within. The project embodies the principles of GSA’s Design Excellence Program and it is featured prominently on the GSA website as an exemplary project.
