A new logo and packaging transforms a brand
Delta Industries commissioned Michael Graves to design a spray bottle, logo and packaging to transform its Evo brand from an industrial looking cleaning bottle into a consumer-friendly kitchen product. Inspiration for the logo was drawn from classical European oil bottling typologies as well as, attributes of the spray bottle’s trigger. The result was a cohesive brand identity and a successful consumer brand.
EVO had no branded identity when Michael Graves started the project. We designed the logo, a custom font, as well as, a packaging strategy which created the foundation of its consumer brand. These branded elements were honored with the 2014 Print Regional Design graphic design award. Additionally, EVO has seen double-digit monthly sales growth during the first 12 months of its launch.
Carefully crafted brand identity
Evo’s logo was built on a structured grid, while still playing off curvilinear forms. The ‘E’ form is directly influenced by the Oil Sprayer’s trigger; however, it was then perfected using careful geometric guides. The ‘O’ breaks the circle geometry intentionally to allude to an olive and further cement the relationship between the product and its mark.
