Transit Village

West Palm Beach, Florida

Phased Public Private Partnership

The developer proposing to transform a largely unused expanse of land surrounding the city’s bus and rail transportation hub sought to enlist a variety of stakeholders that could fund and/or co-develop portions of this transit-oriented development. Eventually, in addition to the transit hub, the project would include: retail, a SciEnergy research and exhibit center supported by local universities, affordable housing, commercial and government offices, and two hotels with up to 400 keys for guests doing business at the nearby U.S. courthouse.  MGA&D’s conceptual design proposed variations in massing corresponding with the multiple uses and a common architectural vocabulary that would tie the multi-phased development together.
