Veterans Benefits Administration – Jacksonville Service Center

Interior Design, Renovation Department of Veteran Affairs

The design team created a prototype customer service center for the Veterans Benefits Administration. The client desired a contemporary space that would empower their staff to make healthy choices and be a comfortable and choice place of employment. The team did this by providing a fun, but sophisticated interior space incorporating many elements of a healthy work environment.

The team created this environment, with open workspace for employees, integrating high acoustic features (through interior finishes and furniture) and options for ergonomic choice at each employee’s workspace. Maximized views of nature and daylight were achieved with interior glass partitions and generous window sizes. Supplemental spaces include a relaxation room for staff breaks between phone calls, a contemporary break room for staff meals as well as a beautiful nursing room to accommodate new mothers. A conference room and training room, separated by a folding partition wall, were provided to host the owner’s frequent training sessions and meetings with the ability to run Town Hall meetings for all staff within one space.

An outdoor patio area was designed adjacent to the open office space for staff breaks and meals and provides the opportunity for the owner to host events for family members.
