While working as an architectural consultant to HKS, Waldon Studio Architects, now Michael Graves Architects, oversaw the design development and construction documentation for the Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital Systems (VCUHS) Perioperative Services renovation and cantilevered waiting room.
This project included renovations of VCUHS’ main hospital, gateway building, critical care hospital and Nelson Clinic, focusing on pre-surgery units, post anesthesia care units, pediatrics recovery rooms, operating rooms, IMRIS renovation, lounges and conference rooms, administrative offices, lobby areas, blood gas lab, pharmacy, Pyxis station alcoves, sterile supply rooms and locker rooms. The firm utilized Integrated Project Delivery.
