Westphalia Community Center

New Facility Maryland-National Park & Planning Commission

The Westphalia Community Center is a new facility on an existing park property in a growing community.  The site features an outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, a baseball field, and accommodates a future walking path and new modern playground.  The community center design created a welcoming and fun environment for community members of all ages. Highlights include multi-use gathering spaces, a high school regulation basketball court, weight and fitness room, a warming pantry, a teen lounge, and two multi-purpose rooms for dance classes and other services.  The building is LEED Silver-equivalent and promotes daylighting, uses recycled materials, and has zero-irrigation landscaping.
